My Life Sucks, Doesn't It?
Hey to all three of my followers! I cannot stop smiling and I keep bursting into giggling fits. I've been skipping and whistling for the last few hours. My words run together as I begin to ramble in my excitement. Nothing can lessen the bright spirit that is pervading my entire soul! My mission papers have been sent to the Church Headquarters and I will receive my call within 1.5-2 weeks! I tried to hide it from my bishop to play a joke on him. As soon as he asked about the progress of my papers, I broke into such a big grin that my cheeks still hurt! The only down side to this is that we could be on our family vacation in Disneyland when my call gets here. I know, my life is horrible, isn't it? Of all the places to be when my call arrives, why would it have to be Disneyland? (If you think I'm being serious, you certainly do not know me) It will all work out because I'll get home on Thursday and so I'd really only have to wait a day. Then, I also found out that as soon as I get my mission call, I can get my temple recommend and take out my endowments. (I had originally thought that I had to wait until only a few weeks before I leave for the MTC) I am so very freaking excited! I cannot help but feel as if I have the greatest life in the world!

Out of My Hands
So, I just sent off my papers to the bishop! He has everything because the doctor and the dentist sent him their parts to my papers too. Everything is going great! My papers are now in the hands of Bishop Paul J. Starkie! I meet with him on Tuesday to go over my papers before they are sent to the stake president. It's really happening people! I'm going on a mission!!!!

Once I Have Grown a Foot or Two
Doctor's exam went great! I have no restrictions to go on a mission! We're just waiting on my blood work to make sure that I'm not anemic. Everything went smoothly and I forgot how much I like my doctor. She was hilarious! She kept making jokes about me being able to eat whatever food they serve in my mission. She asked me if I had any concerns and my only concern was that I hadn't grown any more than my 5' 1". I suppose I have to sing the song differently: "I hope they call me on a mission, though I've not grown a foot or two..."

Commencement!
I couldn't think of an English word that sounded cool enough for my post title, so it's the French word for "starting", not the English word for a graduation. Anyway, this is a momentous day because.... I have started my papers! Yes sir, that is what I said, I have started my papers! I finished all of the personal info, education and service info, and personal health info! Oh, and I already have a doctor's appointment for this Friday! The one thing that I worry about is all of the things that I had to list under past/current illnesses and injuries. Hypoglycemia, ear infections, sight impairment, knee injury, ingrown toenails (removed, thank you), headaches, etc. I wonder what the brethren who decide my call will think? "Why hasn't she fallen apart already? I mean, what could possibly hold this girl together?" Well, I guess we'll just see what the doctor has to say. By the way, did I mention that I started my papers?

Patience Take Two
I just barely got the copy of my records and was so excited! I went straight to lds.org to start my papers, put in my information as my password, and then... Due to application scheduling, this site is currently unavailable; please try again later. Wow, I guess I'm really not meant to start my papers soon!
Patience
So, on Sunday I had my bishop's interview and I was so excited to finally get started! I didn't even think that he would be able to fit me in so soon. I was getting ready to go straight home and start on my papers that night when, to my dismay, the clerk's office still hadn't received my records from my college ward. I can't start my papers until I get those records! So now, I believe that I am being taught a very valuable lesson in preparation for a mission: patience. Let's see how long this lasts!
Mission Time!
So, I haven't had time to write anything lately, though I've had a lot to think about. This means that I've had time to change the complete concept of my blog and what it is going to be about. At first, I wanted to write a sarcastic update of my life. You know, something that would make Ellen Page proud (if you don't know who Ellen Page is, you should probably imdb her. If you don't know what imdb is, I wonder how you are even reading this blog right now). Well, now that my whole life is going to revolve around one thing (not a boy!), I've decided to turn this into my Mission Preparation Blog! So reader, hold on to your hat because we are plunging into the exciting world of Chelsea King's Mission Paper Extravaganza! Please keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times and remember to follow along, this baby is twenty-one pages long and can get a little messy when it comes to the full physical section of the tour! Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
